Over the years I have learned that listening is still the best diagnostic tool. I try to make every patient feel that their concerns and fears have been heard, as addressing those is as much a part of successful treatment as the medical treatment itself. In health care we often tailor treatments based on “best outcomes” through studies. Patients however, often have their own philosophy on what is the best treatment for them. Trying to combine these things is often more successful than any ‘prescribed’ treatment could ever be alone.
