Martin’s Point COVID-19 Vaccine Information

(Updated 11/30/2021)

Vaccine Approved for Children Aged 5-11 Years: The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) endorsed the recommendation for the use of Pfizer® COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 years. The spread of the Delta variant has increased the rate of pediatric infections and hospitalizations nationwide and in our own area. Studies in this age group have shown the vaccine is nearly 91% effective and side effects have been generally mild. To learn more about COVID-19 vaccines for children visit

Vaccine for Those Aged 12 and Over: Eligible for an adult dose of the initial Pfizer vaccine.

Vaccines for Those Aged 18 and Over: Eligible for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson brand initial vaccines. For the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 and vaccines, visit the CDC website at

Boosters  Recommended for All Adults 18 and Older: The CDC has expanded its COVID-19 booster recommendation to now include all adults 18 years and older, stating that the emergence of the Omicron variant further emphasizes the importance of vaccination, boosters, and prevention efforts needed to protect against the virus. Booster shots should be received either six months after an initial Pfizer or Moderna series or two months after an initial J&J vaccine, with the ability to mix and match vaccine brands.

At this time, Martin’s Point will not be offering vaccine clinics. We encourage you to check with your local pharmacy or visit to find a location near you that offers Pfizer® Pediatric or booster vaccines.

You can find additional vaccine information by visiting the Maine & New Hampshire COVID-19 vaccine websites.
