It’s Not Too Late to Get Your Flu Shot!

Did you know that flu season can continue into May? If you’ve already had your flu shot this season, thank you for taking care of yourself. If you haven’t, please consider getting your shot as soon as possible. The flu strains that make up the vaccine change every flu season, so it’s important to get a shot each year.

Nearly everyone aged six months or older, including pregnant women, should be vaccinated. Some people should not get a flu shot, including some with a history of Guillain-Barré Syndrome, some with compromised immune systems, those allergic to eggs or to flu vaccine or any ingredient in the vaccine, and infants under six months old.  If you don’t feel well, it’s recommended that you wait until you feel better to get the flu shot.

For more information on the flu shot CLICK HERE or call Member Services.

Revised Notice of Privacy Practices

It is important to us at the Martin’s Point US Family Health Plan that you understand our duties and your rights about your private health care information and how we may use or share it. We explain all of this to you in a document called our Notice of Privacy Practices.

We recently made some changes to our Notice of Privacy Practices to make it easier for you to understand. Here are examples of some of the types of changes we made:

  • We gave more clear examples of how we may use or share your health information, such as how it is used for payment activities and health care operations.
  • We better described the kinds of communications you may get from us about treatment options and products or services we provide.
  • We clarified your rights, such as how you can ask for confidential communications and get a copy of the Notice of Privacy Practices.

Our revised Notice of Privacy Practices took effect on November 15, 2018. You can always find a copy of the Notice of Privacy Practices currently in effect at the bottom of the home page of our website at
