March 26,2020: Updates from Martin’s Point
Helping You Stay Informed and Healthy
TEMPERATURE CHECKS AT OUR HEALTH CARE CENTERS
For the health and safety of our community, beginning this week we will be asking our patients, visitors, and employees to pause at the entrance of all Martin’s Point Health Care Centers to have their temperatures taken. A greeter wearing personal protective equipment will welcome you and take your temperature as you enter the building. If a fever is detected, you will be asked to wear a protective mask (provided by us) and we’ll take measures to ensure you receive the care you need while minimizing the risk to others. All those entering will also be asked to use the hand sanitizer we provide at our entrances. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to safeguard the health of our community.
HEALTH CARE CENTERS OPEN WHILE SHELTER-IN-PLACE ORDERS TAKE EFFECT
Towns and cities in Maine and beyond have begun to declare civil states of emergency, closing non-essential businesses and indicating that residents should shelter in place, usually for a designated period of time. Businesses and organizations providing essential services are permitted to continue operations during this time. As an organization providing essential health care services, Martin’s Point Health Care Centers will remain open. Our mobile COVID-19 testing sites will also remain open. Patients are permitted to leave their homes to attend medical appointments at all of our Health Care Centers.
SOCIAL DISTANCING WORKS BEST WHEN WE ALL PARTICIPATE
We’d like to remind our patients of the critical importance of practicing social distancing during this stage of the COVID-19 outbreak in our area. We urge you to maintain at least a six-foot distance from others when you need to be in public spaces. We also hope that you will follow the advice of the CDC and remain at home as much as possible during this time. By taking personal responsibility for following these guidelines we are each doing our part to protect our own health and the health of our community.
