Portland Gear Hub is a nonprofit, used outdoor gear and bike shop aiming to get more youth and adults outside and active by increasing access to affordable, reliable equipment, and educating about bike safety and maintenance.
In support of Gear Hub’s mission to promote safe, outdoor activity and environmentally friendly transportation, Martin’s Point provides both monetary donations and employee volunteers, targeting our support to encourage active kids through their Youth Wrench and Youth Earn a Bike programs.
The Portland Gear Hub’s Bikes for All Mainers program offers people ages 12+ a free educational opportunity to earn a bicycle by building skills in bike maintenance and traffic awareness.
Support from Martin's Point Health Care has helped us get 100s of bikes out into the community for kids and families. Funding for our free programs at the Bike School provides not only bike maintenance and safety education, but pathways for students to become leaders in the space and a supportive environment for new friendships!
