A message from Martin’s Point President and CEO Dr. Paul Kasuba

Like many other employers both inside and outside the health care industry, Martin’s Point Health Care is experiencing considerable challenges, which require rapid change in response to market conditions. These challenges are not unique to our sector—indeed, few industries throughout the country are untouched by the need to address unprecedented pressures and uncertainty.

As a mission-based, not-for-profit organization, we share a commitment to building and maintaining an operational model that meets and exceeds the expectations of our customers, our communities, and our workforce, now, and in the future. To do this effectively, we must consistently review the needs of the organization and ensure our workforce is positioned to support them accordingly.

In response to the challenges we face, we have reconfigured several areas of our business to ensure we are operating at optimal efficiency in the current environment, resulting in the difficult decision to eliminate several positions.

These decisions are among the most difficult for any organization to make. We are deeply grateful for the many contributions of the employees who have left our organization, and we thank them for their time and their dedication to our customers, and to one another. Martin’s Point is committed to providing resources and support for impacted employees throughout this transition.

For nearly 40 years Martin’s Point has remained an employer of choice, a trusted community partner, and a viable care-based organization throughout our primary care region in southern Maine and New Hampshire, and the extended regions we serve in the Northeast with our US Family Health Plan and Medicare Advantage health insurance plan offerings, by maintaining a right-sized personnel base and adhering to strategic adjustments in our workforce that align with evolving business needs.

Our road to continued growth and sustainability depends on our collective response to change, our adaptability, and a steadfast commitment to our mission.

Sincerely,
Paul
