Indigo Arts Alliance connects Black and Brown artists from diverse backgrounds to engage in their creative process as mentors and mentees—providing Maine-based artists of African descent access to practicing artists of color from around the world.

Martin’s Point is a sponsor of Indigo Arts Alliance’s the Beautiful Blackbird Children’s Book Festival, providing financial and volunteer support for this annual event that features diverse stories by diverse writers and artists.

The Beautiful Blackbird Children’s Book Festival honors Black and Black Immigrant children's literature and its creators through media, engaging activities, and live book events.

The festival's annual giveaway of over 3,000 books to families across Maine helps celebrate local authors and promote literacy within the community.
