Dental Plus for Essential (HMO) Plan

Optional coverage for dental care needs.

Martin's Point Generations Advantage Dental Plus is optional supplemental coverage for diagnostic/preventive, basic and major restorative services for an additional monthly premium. It is administered by Northeast Delta Dental (NEDD).

Once you've enrolled and your Dental Plus plan becomes effective, there's no waiting period and no deductible—so you can start using your benefit as soon as you need it and low office visit copays and coinsurance amounts make important dental care affordable.

Important Note: Dental Plus is available to Generations Advantage Essential plan members only.

Understanding Your Coverage

Benefit amounts

Expenses paid by the plan for covered dental services count toward your Calendar-Year Maximum benefit. The Dental Plus monthly premium is in addition to your monthly plan premium.

2027 Plan Year

Dental Plus Optional Add-On—$75 monthly premium
All Maine counties

Calendar-Year Maximum: $1,500
Category A: $50 copay
Category B: $50 copay + 50% coinsurance
Category C: $50 copay + 50% coinsurance

Dental Plus covers two cleanings and oral exams (routine or periodonal) per year.

2026 Plan Year

Dental Plus Optional Add-On—$69 monthly premium
All Maine counties

Calendar-Year Maximum: $1,500
Category A: Not covered (Category A coverage is included in your Essential base plan)
Category B: 50% coinsurance
Category C: 50% coinsurance

Dental Plus covers one cleaning and oral exam (routine or periodontal) per year.

Below you will find a list of common dental procedures organized by coverage categories.

For the 2026 plan year—Category A Diagnostic/Preventive services are covered in the dental benefit included in your Generations Advantage Essential plan and is not part of the Dental Plus optional supplemental coverage.

For the 2027 plan year—Category A is included in the Dental Plus supplement coverage.

Diagnostic

Problem-focused exams as needed
X-rays (complete series or panoramic film) once in a five calendar year period
Bitewing X-rays once in a calendar year
X-rays of individual teeth as necessary

Preventive

Oral exam and routine cleaning

Restorative

Amalgam (silver) fillings*
Resin restorations on anterior teeth and the buccal surface of bicuspids only

Emergency Relief of Pain

Brush biopsy once in a calendar year

Denture Repair

Repair of a removeable denture to its original condition

Endodontics

Root canal therapy

Oral Surgery

Surgical and routine extractions

Periodontics

Periodontal maintenance (cleaning)**
Treatment of gum disease
Clinical crown lengthening once per tooth per lifetime

* Additional costs may apply for resin fillings, please reach out to Northeast Delta Dental for more information.

**You may substitute a routine cleaning (Category A). Total number of cleanings per calendar year cannot exceed two.

Check to see if your dentist is in-network.

When using the Network Provider Search Tool (administered by Northeast Delta Dental):

Choose the Martin's Point Generations Advantage Network.

Attend your dental visit.

Show your Generations Advantage Member ID card at your next appointment. Your in-network dentist will submit your claim for any cost shares.
