Martin’s Point encourages hospitals in our provider network to consider participating in the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS), a federally coordinated system that strengthens the nation’s ability to respond to major emergencies and disasters.
NDMS supplements state and local medical resources during events such as natural disasters, major transportation accidents, technological disasters, and acts of terrorism. It also supports the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs by providing additional medical capacity when needed.
By participating in NDMS, hospitals can help ensure that additional medical capacity is available when communities and the nation need it most. We encourage our network to learn more about NDMS participation and consider how their organization may be able to help support this important emergency preparedness effort.
