The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter provides education and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias throughout the state of Maine, including those living with the disease, caregivers, families, and health care professionals. They advocate for the needs and rights of those facing Alzheimer’s disease and all other dementia and work to advance critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
Currently, more than 29,000 people in Maine are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and over 46,000 caregivers provide 68,000,000 hours in unpaid care. Dementia caregivers are providing 20% more care than in 2009. For more info visit alz.org/maine
