Founded in 1985, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland is a non-profit organization that builds decent, affordable homes and provides critical home repairs for low and moderate income families in Cumberland County.
The organization champions the cause of sturdy, attainable housing, fostering self-reliance and a firmer community fabric through the construction and enhancement of homes for those in need.
Martin's Point maintains a valued partnership with Habitat for Humanity, contributing through donations and volunteer work. In recent years, our Community Impact Team and employees across various departments contributed to two Habitat home-building projects.
The teams worked on a South Portland site and participated in a Women Build event, promoting affordable housing efforts and empowering women in the community. No construction experience was needed, allowing participants to learn and make a positive impact.
