Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland champions the cause of sturdy, attainable housing, fostering self-reliance and a firmer community fabric through the construction and enhancement of homes for those in need.
Martin's Point maintains a valued partnership with Habitat for Humanity, contributing through donations and volunteer work. This summer, our Community Impact Team and employees across various departments contributed to two Habitat home-building projects. The teams worked on a South Portland site and participated in a Women Build event, promoting affordable housing efforts and empowering women in the community. No construction experience was needed, allowing participants to learn and make a positive impact. Kate Kuhrt, Manager Business Development and Market Analysis, noted the experience was fulfilling, enhancing understanding of Habitat's mission in Maine and connecting with fellow Martin’s Point women.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland has built 86 homes and completed 122 critical repairs locally, significantly strengthening the fabric of Cumberland County communities. HabitatPortlandMe.org
