Teens to Trails

Teens to Trails Life Happens Outside winners

Connecting Maine students to life-changing outdoor experiences.

Teens to Trails was founded in 2005 by Bob and Carol Leone in honor of their daughter, Sara, who lost her life in a car accident in 2005. The organization seeks to honor Sara's memory and her love of the outdoors by connecting local teens to the natural world so that they can enjoy healthy lives outside.

Through a network of Outdoor Clubs, Teens to Trails gives Maine teenagers a respite from today’s academic and social pressures while connecting them with their peers. There are a range of different programs and trips offered, including the Outdoor Leadership Conference, October Rendezvous at Camden Hills State Park, Adventure Bound camping/rafting trip, and more.

Spending time outside can assist in staying healthy both physically and mentally.

In addition to helping lower blood pressure levels and reduce stress, outdoor activity can also boost cognitive function and strengthen our immune systems.
