For Bud Samiljan, Martin’s Point isn’t just his health plan—it’s also where he’s built a career. After first becoming a patient, Bud joined the organization as an employee nearly a decade ago, drawn to the same values that convinced him to enroll in Generations Advantage.
Bud says his experience as a Martin’s Point patient inspired him to join the team.
“I came to work here after I was a patient. I liked the way they did things, and I thought, well, then this might be a good place to work.”
He’s now been part of the Martin’s Point family for almost 10 years.
Bud says he values being part of a Maine-based, not-for-profit organization with deep community roots.
“Being a local company, a not-for-profit, having an extensive network—there’s no other company who can say those things. We’re the only Maine-based Medicare Advantage plan and not-for-profit in that space. That’s huge to me.”
Bud also shares his life with Henry, his dog—and fellow Martin’s Point member.
“This is my dog Henry, who has his own plan,” Bud says with a smile.
Bud appreciates knowing that whether he’s at home or traveling with Henry, they’ll find care in-network wherever they go.
