Earlier this year Martin’s Point broke ground on a two-year construction project with an expected completion in spring 2027. This project will create a central campus for the organization, supporting our workforce and enabling us to continue providing exceptional care and service to our patients and members.
Work on the site continues to progress. Patients, employees, guests, and neighbors can expect the following activity in the coming weeks.
On February 1, 2025, Martin’s Point officially began the process of creating a central campus at our Veranda Street location in Portland, Maine.
This construction will not impact patient care or access to services at our Portland Health Care Center.
Patients, visitors, and staff should use the main entrance at the Veranda Street traffic light. The north entrance will be restricted, with clear signage posted to guide access.
In late 2024, the City of Portland approved our proposal to build a new facility adjacent to our existing Portland Health Care Center. The project aims to centralize operations, modernize our workspace, and better support our workforce.
Chief Marketing Officer Steve Amendo shared in a MaineBiz article:
"The investment in our Veranda Street campus... is designed to meet the needs of the evolving workforce—both today and into the future—so that we can best serve our patients and members."
"This move will create a modern facility and campus aimed at attracting and retaining the highest quality workforce in a single location."
The project is expected to be completed by 2027. We will continue to share updates as progress continues.
