Veranda campus construction update

Earlier this year Martin’s Point broke ground on a two-year construction project with an expected completion in spring 2027. This project will create a central campus for the organization, supporting our workforce and enabling us to continue providing exceptional care and service to our patients and members.

Work on the site continues to progress. Patients, employees, guests, and neighbors can expect the following activity in the coming weeks.

  • Drilling and blasting operations are underway and will continue through August 11, barring any weather or logistical delays.
  • The week of August 11 the rock anchoring system along the area adjacent the Portland Health Care Center will be installed.
  • Excavation for the new upper retaining wall for the new roadway construction connecting the new building to the Portland Health Care Center began the week of July 21 and is ongoing.
  • Concrete foundation work will begin for the new upper retaining wall the week of August 4 and continue through August 20.

Chief Marketing Officer Steve Amendo shared in a MaineBiz article:

"The investment in our Veranda Street campus... is designed to meet the needs of the evolving workforce—both today and into the future—so that we can best serve our patients and members."
"This move will create a modern facility and campus aimed at attracting and retaining the highest quality workforce in a single location."

The project is expected to be completed by 2027. We will continue to share updates as progress continues.
